Dear 2008 Lake of the Sky Trail Run participants!
September 30, 2008 the Tahoe Rim Trail Association opened a new rerout out of Tahoe City towards Brockway.
The rerout added 1.5 more miles to TRT between Tahoe City and Cinder Cone which is a part of the race course.
To keep the race close to 50K we decided to make the following changes:
1. Turnaround was moved 2 miles closer to Watson Lake (15.5 miles from Start/Finish) and there would be no aid station at this point.
The total distance of the race is 31.0 miles.
2. A Relay exchange point is going to be at Watson Lake (13.5 miles from Start) The total distance for Relay is 27 miles.
3. Aid Station 1 (Cinder Cone) is going to be 4/27 miles from Start/Finish.
We have a new map of the course -

Note: All distances and a map are approximate at this time.
The race was held under ideal Fall conditions at Lake on October 13.
Cool at the start and as the sun rose warmed up to a beautiful sunny day with a high of 52°F.
Chris Grauch from Boulder, CO came away with a win with a time of 5:16:12. This was the 4th fastest time ever.
He was being chased down by Women's course record holder Beverley Anderson-Abbs. She finished with a time of 5:21:22, which broke her course record by 17 minutes and her 3rd victory in the Women's race.
She has won all 3 of the Women's races.
She was pursued early by 3rd place runner Rory Bosio who finished with a time of 5:45:22.
She is a young (23) and upcoming ultrarunner.
The Diva duo of Juliana Cremeans & Janet Demsher won the relay with a time of 6:45:58
After the race, runners were treated to a huge home made buffet of pork/beef roast, scalloped potatoes, veggie chili, broccoli cheddar soup, veggies,
garlic bread, salad, and multitude of desserts made by Linda(Mathis) & Linda(Bennett).
We want to thank all the great volunteers at our race.
All runners appreciated the Thanksgiving Style feast at the Watson Lake Aid Station(Mile 12.0 mi/20.8) provided by Dave Cotter and the Tahoe Mountain Milers/Sage Brush Stompers Running Clubs.
We were able to raise over $1200 for the Tahoe Rim Trail Association. They
do a wonderful job maintaining one of the best trails in the world!
You could find a great recap and pictures of the race made by Scott Dunlap
